Abstract

The aim of this study was to get empirical evidence about the use of TikTok to improve students' vocabulary. The method used in this study was quantitative method. This study was an experimental study (pre-post test group design) and conducted for a 3 weeks started on January 2th until 20th 2024 at MTS MT Belanting involving 50 students of eight grade. Data collection method was by pre-test and post-test. The data derived from pre-post test scores were processed and analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of this study showed that there was a significant improvement of students' vocabulary before and after being taught by using TikTok. Mean score 40.40 and the mean score of the posttest is 77.48. And also the result of calculation showed that at the significant degree of 5%, the value of t-test > t-table distribution: (5.191> 1.677). It indicated that the value of t-test was higher than t-table distribution which means the use of TikTok was effective in improving students' vocabulary at the eight grade students MTS MT Belanting.
