Abstract
The truss of bamboo structure with filler material is facing the difficulties in its processing, that are the difficulties to find the same bamboo’s diameter and it is too hard to make the wood filler material which is accurate with the diameter of circular bamboo’s hole, so in its processing will take much time. The other difficulties are a framing chain because of its form in tubular and the shear strength os relatively low and the alternative solution applied the spaced-stem creation from laminated bamboo. This study is including in physic and mechanical of bamboo. The main test of this research is the spaced-stem strength compression of the laminated bamboo in 25, 50, 75 and 100 of slenderness variety. The test is done by using two model of Profile Steel I strengthened on Rigid Floor with short-term load burden static by using Hidraulic Jack. To indicate the load of this test, the Transducer indicator is applied until the object of the test is failed. The result of spaced-stem test is analyzed and compared with available formulas applied. The result of spaced-stem of laminated bamboo in 25, 50, 75 and 100 slenderness are 13,202 MPa; 12,202 MPa; 8,158 MPa and 5,785 MPa in continually. Base on the result of the test is done, that the strength of compression of spaced-stem usually decreases respectively with the increasing of the slenderness in an equation: y = 5E-05x3 - 0.009x2 + 0,449x + 7,061 with R2 = 1, where x is the slenderness stems’ and y is the strength of compression. The failure is occurred in spaced-stem are shear failure and structure failure.
