This thesis deals with verbs, pronouns, and nouns as politeness markers in sasak. This study is aimed at identifying the type of verbs, pronouns, and nouns were used as politeness markers by Sasak speaker as well as to identify the factors contributing to their use. The population of this study is 5453 people in Montong Sari, Batu Anyar, and Pohdana and the sample is 44 people. The data collection methods applied in this study are documentation, nonparticipants observation, interview, recording. Furthermore, the data were analyzed through transcription, identification, classification, and description. In which, the results of the study shows that the people of North Gerung are considerably polite when using Sasak language— wherein their language choices is varied based upon several factors: topics, background of the participants (i.e: social status, age, and gender), and settings. Out of those factors, participants’ background, especially social status, seems to be one of the most influential aspects.
