Understanding the classification of epilepsy is essential for a diagnostic approach, choosing therapy, and knowing it’s prognosis. Gender-related epilepsy studies are still relatively small and several studies show different results. This study was aimed to investigated the influence of gender on types of seizure in epilepsy outpatients at Mutiara Sukma Mental Hospital, West Nusa Tenggara Method: This research is a descriptive analytic research with cross sectional approach. Sampling method in this research using random consecutive nonprobability sampling. This research was conducted at Polyclinic of Mutiara Sukma Mental Hospital, West Nusa Tenggara since August 2016 until August 2017 and there were 111 respondents in this research. Type of seizure was determined based on heteroanamnesis related to the subjects condition during the sizure, consisted of focal and generalized type. The statistical test used in this research is nonparametric test that is chi-square test. Results: From 111 respondents, 64 were men and 47 were women. Based on the type of generation, 61.3% experienced a general The of seizure and 38.7% experienced focal. There was no significant difference between onset, etiology and age of respondents in both group of type seizure (P> 0.05). Based on the chi- square test it is known that there was no significant difference between gender and type of seizure (P> 0.05).
