Abstract
This research aims at describing and finding out the philosophical messages in Sorong Serah Aji Krama customary song which used in traditional Sasak marriage events as well as to documment it, because it is the most valuable inheriting asset for the new generation. In this research the researcher investigated all kinds of Tembang (customary songs). There were ten kinds customary songs all together which has been developed in Sasak community as the population of the study. There were taken four kinds of Tembang which are usually used in Sorong Serah Aji Krama ceremonies. The researcher took four kinds customary songs out of ten kinds of customary song, they were Asmaradana, Pangkur, Sinom,and Dandang Gula. This research is descriptive with a philoshopical approach was used to analyze the data. The data are collected through interview and related documentation. The result of the study shows the philosophical messages in Sorong Serah Aji Krama customary songs were religious, moral, education, language, and cultural values. It also showed that Sorong Serah Aji Krama customary songs convey the glorious teaching inseparable from the six elements in life of sasak community such as religion, tradition, customs, behaviour, local culture and way of life of the local community.
